Although not offical, it’s been reported from a fairly reputable insider, that Summer Wine will indeed have 6 more shows! So looks like we may indeed have another series to look forward! Any more info, and I’ll post it.
Cheers!

great news if true…i’ve really enjoyed this series (although there’s still far too many characters….it could do with loosing a few (Christopher Beeny and Trevor Bannister to name 2 who could be easily lost)…or having less characters appear in each episode).

I’m keeping this news fairly open ended, waiting to hear more, but lets hope for the best! Yes, I think you’ve hit it, there has become too many things going on on the show, too many charcaters. I was watching some that went back to the 1970’s and it struck me much harder that there were really few actors and actresses then, and watching these more recent ones just made it that much more a dramtic difference. In those days, there were no weak links, in my opinion. Everybody was stronge, but they didn’t need a whole town’s worth of people.

Yes…I was just watching episode 7 “WIll Randolph make a good impression” and there are 18 regulars credited (and that doesn’t include Auntie Wainwright and Tom who were missing). For a half hour show that’s far too many.
